If you attended PAX West 2018, you undoubtedly partook in an incredible experience. And what better way to wrap up a successful trip than to party your heart out with fellow gamers? Lenovo, Intel®, and PC Gamer opened up the Lenovo Legion Lounge once again to celebrate the Intel Gamer Days™ event. The Lounge featured a very laid-back theme without a dress code or high bars of entry. As long as you were 21 or older, you were automatically qualified to pass through the gate.
Just because it was a free event didn’t mean that it lacked extravagance. The open dance floor was lavishly decorated with cool gizmos, events booths, and gaming stations. Upon arrival, gamers were greeted with live music, delicious beverages, and a dazzling light show to start. Whether you knew how to dance or not, it was the perfect opportunity to practice your moves.
While the dance floor was for everyone, those most adept at flailing their limbs also got to go home with something extra sweet for their skills. Lenovo held a Fortnite dance-off on the raised main stage. All participating dancers must imitate an iconic emote from the game. In the end, the two best dancers each walked away with an Intel processor, a custom Legion jersey, and a framed Fortnite poster print. These exclusive prints were created by a commissioned artist, and only a handful was ever distributed!
Even if dancing wasn’t your thing, Lenovo still provided an avenue for you to win fantastic prizes using your gaming knowledge. Lenovo’s KTad created six tips and tricks videos for Fortnite, Overwatch, and PUBG. If you watched all six attentively and scored 100% on the quiz, you were entered to win a fully decked-out Lenovo Y530 gaming laptop. Now you have a shiny, blazing-fast machine to test out your newly acquired gaming skills.
To up the hype even more, Lenovo invited streamers BurkeBlack, Sacriel, Seequisha, and Timmac to the floor, each are masters at their games. They shared their extensive gaming experience with the attendees and offered many insightful tips to players looking to improve. Cosplayers were prominently featured as well; Overwatch characters were particularly popular.
The Lenovo Legion Lounge was a celebration for Intel Gamer Days, and what better way to celebrate than to game? Circling their dance floor was four gaming stations, each decked out with the best Lenovo gaming hardware. Gamers were invited to experience popular titles including Fortnite, PUBG, and overwatch in unprecedented fidelity.
They say that memories last a lifetime, and this was one that everyone definitely wanted to remember. Capturing epic moments with your phone was great, but even better was the Lenovo photo booth. In addition to having something to fondly remember upon, posting the pictures with the hashtag #LegionLounge2018 on Twitter also provided a chance to win the same artwork rewarded in the dance competition. Even if you didn’t win, you still gain bragging rights among your friends on social media.
Overall, the Lenovo Legion Lounge was a massive hit. In addition to the competitions highlighted above, many other events were also held for swags and other small prizes. Lenovo finished off the celebration with a celebratory cake. And yes, it was delicious and moist.
