The HyperX Cloud Alpha is our favourite wireless gaming headset, and it's currently AU$90 off as part of Amazon Prime Big Deal Days
Save on DTS surround sound and astronomical battery life.
HyperX makes damn fine headsets, and the Cloud Alpha Wireless is arguably its very best. The unit takes top spot on our list of the best wireless gaming headsets, with Dave praising its 300 hour battery life, featherweight comfort and brilliant audio. Those factors cover most of what you want from a gaming headset, and it doesn't really drop the ball on any count (the mic is "merely OK", though, and not suited for pro streamers or content creators).
It's not cheap, though: it usually sells for AU$299, but as part of Amazon Big Deal Days it's currently going for AU$209. That's a great price, even if you could find it for AU$177 back in April.
To buy the headset at AU$209 you'll need to grab a free Amazon Prime subscription; just make sure you cancel before your first billing if you don't want to be charged. Otherwise you'll need to pay AU$257.02, which is still a discount, albeit not as tempting.
Save AU$90
Look, it's our favourite wireless gaming headset at a bargain price. For AU$209 you can enjoy comes DTS surround sound, a light form factor, and a seemingly magic 300 hour battery life. This AU$90 discount brings its mid-range price down into the lower spectrum, making it the top unit to consider if you're after a wireless gaming headset.
HyperX kinda nailed it with the Cloud Alpha line. The wired version takes top spot in our list of the best gaming headsets (note, not specifically wireless) which is testament to their quality. Sure, you need to be happy with the gamer stylings that come part and parcel with the HyperX brand, but they're pretty pared back here, all things considered.
They weigh 335g with the mic attached, and in addition to the 2.4Ghz wireless connectivity they also support good ol' cords. Do note the absence of Bluetooth, though: if you're inclined to use your gaming headset as an all-rounder, that may be a deal breaker if you want to use it on commutes.
For the whole story on the HyperX Cloud Alpha wireless you should check out our review before pulling the trigger. If you're looking for other bargains during the Amazon event, heaps of mice, keyboards, headsets, monitors and more are listed in our big hub.
