Fortnite item shop: How to get the Kratos Fortnite skin
The God of War himself steals Mando's thunder.
Fortnite Season 5 includes plenty of things to be excited about, including The Mandalorian, but there's more. The Ghost of Sparta himself. Kratos, star of the God of War franchise on PlayStation, now has his own Fortnite skin. Even better, you can buy it in the Fortnite item shop.
Check out the trailer below for a look at Kratos in action.
It looks like the skin will specifically take inspiration from the PS4 God of War reboot, which transplanted Kratos from ancient Greece to ancient Norway and the mythical realm of Midgard. I'd like to think that maybe we'll get an alternate skin that looks more like his younger, slimmer days in the original God of War trilogy.
On that note, Kratos comes with a few cosmetic items that series fans will appreciate.
His harvesting tool is the Leviathan Axe, which Kratos used to hack countless trolls to death in the 2018 game. It has a built-in feature where the axe freezes whenever you swing it, making for a cool little effect as you gather your materials.
Kratos' glider is the Guardian Shield, which I have fond memories of bashing into skulls as a backup weapon.
Finally, there's possibly the best back bling since Fortnite introduced pets. Kratos can attach the talking head of Mimir, the Norse god of knowledge and wisdom, to his back. In God of War, Mimir serves as a humorous source of lore dumps and occasional commentary, though who knows if he'll spout any words in Fortnite.

Kratos also has the "Freezing Burst" emote, which basically just makes him pull out the Leviathan Axe and freeze it up a bit. A little bit of a letdown, if you ask me, considering all the beheading, punching, and general slaying Kratos is capable of.

Fortnite V-Bucks: How to earn them
You've got two options for purchasing Kratos. There's the Kratos bundle that'll cost you 2,200 V-bucks at its current discount (it'll turn to 3,300 V-bucks in the future), or just buying the Kratos skin will cost you 1,500 V-bucks. Thankfully, the Kratos skin automatically comes with the Mimir back bling.
If you really just want to see Jonesy or Peely whip out the Leviathan Axe, you can buy the cosmetics as standalones in the item shop as well.
