Bungie is 'restoring services' to Destiny 2, but some issues may persist
The game was taken offline for 'emergency maintenance' earlier this afternoon.
Update 2: (9 pm ET, Oct 1): The emergency maintenance is complete, although there may still be queues for awhile yet.

Update (8 pm ET, Oct 1): Bungie reported on Twitter that it is "making progress in restoring services to Destiny 1 and Destiny 2," but warned that some players may still experience issues while signing into the game. Further updates will be posted as they become available.
Original story: Bungie just announced on Twitter that Destiny and Destiny 2 have been taken offline for "emergency maintenance." There's no word on what exactly the issue is but the studio said previously that it was investigating problems that were preventing players from logging in. Some of our in-house Guardians have also been experiencing issues with being given unexpected heave-hos from the game.
