PAX West 2017 has already come and gone! If you weren't able to make it this year, you missed one heck of a show. The ASUS ROG booth showed off its latest line of gaming hardware, including the ultra thin gaming laptop on offer, the Zephrus. Plus, ROG's new GL503 gaming laptop made an appearance along with the latest series of gaming PCs and several custom PC builds with which visitors were able to test out and challenge other attendees in Rocket League, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, and Overwatch matches.
For those looking for VR ready PCs, the ROG booth gave gamers a chance to play the Oculus-exclusive Unspoken on the console sized GRB II and battle their friends one-on-one in spellcasting duels to the death. If attendees were looking for more high-end competition, the Join the Republic team invited aspiring CS:GO pros to try out for the official squad at the booth's e-sports desks.
There were plenty of impressive systems to see, but the Guardians of the Galaxy-inspired custom PC really took the cake. The Awesome Build is worth a whopping $18,000 and features a hand-crafted Baby Groot and an Awesome Mix Vol. 2 tape deck facade on the front of the case. Visitors to the booth had the opportunity to win the Awesome Build while helping out children in need by donating to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Every $20 earned you an entry and winner will be chosen October 24th at 3pm PST.
As a major highlight to Twitch fans, the ASUS ROG booth welcomed the popular Twitch personality Dr. DisRespect as he livestreamed his regular show at the booth. The good doctor had several meet-and-greets with fans and played PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds with his fellow gamers on the e-sports stage.
It was another great show at PAX West 2017! We hope to see you next year!
